Log Cabins

I started out with a post on Sunday morning peacefulness as I sit on my back deck drinking my morning coffee and listening to the birds. Then my thoughts drifted to drinking coffee on the deck of a nice log cabin and THEN to fireplaces in the log cabins and before you know it I had completely scrapped my first post and replaced it with log cabins and fireplaces. lol I dream of log cabins. I should have moved out of California years ago and moved to the mountains of Montana or a lake somewhere in Wyoming.

I have ALWAYS wanted to go to a real old working dude ranch and learn how to cook REAL home cooked meals from scratch like they did back when. I know once I got there I would probably scream for the Microwave and a Mr. Coffee because they are FASTER but I would persevere, for a few days at least. haha

Sit back and enjoy my log cabins.........

This is my ultimate favorite....isn't it just gorgeous??

Oh, I am soooo there! I love log cabins: to look at and to live in. Those are beautiful photos.

We almost built one here but the logistics just didn't work out. They are suprisingly affordable. But we would have had to hire a crane and it had to be at the precise moment the semi-truck delivered the crates. Then one must hire several subcontrators to put it together, etc. I didn't feel like fooling with it. My loss I guess.

Hope you're having a happy weekend! :o)

I have the same dream, Melody!! I would love to live in Montana in a log cabin....on a ranch. Maybe you and I should start a bed and breakfast. Lol! Love all the ones you posted...especially that HUGE fireplace!!

We have a huge Lindal Homes book that showcases a lot of homes like the gorgeous photos you've posted (yes, I did drool! LOL!). They were the inspiration to our home. For expense's sake, we couldn't go all log, but we love our cedar siding. :)

Sounds like you dream of homesteading, like we do!

I loved these, to be curled up in front of a warm fire. The second picture reminded me of a cabin I once got the opportunity to stay in in the mountains of Tenessee.

These are all so lovely. Makes me long for winter again.....cold pristine snow, a log fire, and the scent of wood burning.....

These pictures of the log cabins are beautiful. I think the only log cabin I will get to sleep in might be the little ones at the KOA campground. lol.
